Heidi Hoffer

Heidi Hoffer was the Scenic and Lighting Designer for the OSU Department of Theatre from 1988 to 2017. During her immpressive career, Heidi has worked on more than 200 professional and academic scenery and lighting designs, both nationally and internationally. She was awarded a 2010-2011 Fulbright Scholar Award to work in the theatre industry in South Africa for 13 months. She has also completed theatre research and design work in China, Egypt, Italy, England, France, Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong.  Heidi has also worked extensively with several television shows and movies as a scenic designer, light designer and art consultant. Most recently, she was Charge Scenic Artist for two local films: I Can Only Imagine and Wildlife. She has served as the general Editor of the Theatre Design and Technology Journal since 2004 and as an active member of the USITT Scene Design Commission.

Heidi plans to continue her work and present workshops following her retirement. She will continue to work as a guest lighting and scenic designer at universities and community theatres across the nation.
