Visiting Assistant Professor of Lighting Design

Based in South Africa, he has worked on shows ranging from experimental theatre via contemporary dance and musicals to ballet and opera. Career highlights include both scenic and lighting designs for FREUD'S LAST SESSION, THE IMAGINED LAND, MISS DIETRICH REGRETS, THE DOUBLE BASS, SUNSET BOULEVARD, DELIRIUM, BROTHERS IN BLOOD, ROMANCE, UMOJA (in London’s West End), BIG BAND BLAST,LIFE x3, AMADEUSTHREE VIEWINGSTELL ME ON A SUNDAY, MOJOTHE KING & IA HANDFUL OF KEYS, SWEET PHOEBE andTHE FOUR SEASONS as well as lighting for THE VORTEX, AFRICAN FOOTPRINT, ROSALINDATHE ROCKY HORROR SHOWCLOSER and a season of seven South African plays as part of WOZA AFRICA at the Lincoln Festival in New York.His work with FREE FLIGHT and VUSA dance companies has also taken him to Germany, Switzerland and Australia and he regularly works in France with choreographer Robyn Orlin. As a theatre consultant his projects have included the MONUMENT THEATRE in Grahamstown, the ARTS CENTRE for the University of Johannesburg, both the GLOBE and the LYRIC theatres at Gold Reef City, the three venues of the new SOWETO THEATRE and currently under construction, new theatres in Senegal, Uganda, and the Kingdom of eSwatini. This is his third visit to OSU where he previously lit THE DROWSY CHAPERONE and CABARET.
