Leslie J. Miller is a performer, an educator, and a choreographer.  She began her training at the Hanover School of Ballet, through which she had the opportunity to travel, as an ambassador of dance, throughout Europe, China, and various venues throughout the U.S.  As a scholarship student, she graduated cum laude, with a B.F.A. in Ballet, from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music in 2003.  She has performed works by Paul Taylor, George Balanchine, Seán Curran, Jiang Qi, Victoria Morgan, and many others.  She furthered her studies at the Taylor School, the Joffrey Ballet School, and River North Chicago, and in 2006, she was a member of the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company II, under the direction of Shonna Hickman-Matlock.  

Upon completing her B.F.A., Leslie studied with Donald Byrd, Artistic Director of Spectrum Dance Theater and was the Company Coordinator and a company member of Dance China NY, of the New York Chinese Cultural Center, through 2011Under the direction of Dr. Margaret Carlson, Leslie danced with Verb Ballets for two seasons and performed works by Doris Humphrey, Heinz Poll, Richard Dickinson, Tommie Waheed Evans, Antonio Brown, and many other notable choreographers. 

In 2015, Leslie graduated from the New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, with an M.F.A. in Dance Performance, as a scholarship and Tisch School of the Arts Dean’s Fellowship Award recipient.  She has had the privilege to study with Seán Curran, Cherylyn Lavagnino, Phyllis Lamhut, Deborah Jowitt, Giada Ferrone, Rashaun Mitchell, Pamela Pietro, Jolinda Menendez, and Jim Martin, and she has performed works by Merce Cunningham, Cora Bos-Kroese, and Kay Cummings. Before joining the faculty at OSU, Leslie was the Education Programs and Dance China NY Manager; an adjunct instructor of dance at Nassau Community College; and she taught dance throughout the Tri-State area.
